Second Life is Currently Linden-Login-Only (Monday, Dec 12 @ 6:20pm)

There was an attempted grid-wide attack earlier this evening, we are currently investigating and handling the fall-out. Login has been limited to Lindens-only for the time being.

Please try not rez or build objects until we have cleared up the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience and will update you as soon as we have more information.

Everyone has been logged out of Second Life in order to shut down the grid, identify the affected sims and roll them back before the attack. This should correct the content problems.

Update:

We have identified the problem and will need approximately two hours to complete the rollbacks to ensure that there is no content loss in the affected regions. We hope to have the grid back up by 10pm SLT/PDT.

Once the rollbacks are completed, everyone should be able to login back in and their objects will have been returned. Thank you again for your patience and I will post updates as they become available.

The login for the Preview Grid has been turned off due to the extreme load. We hope to turn the login back on later this evening. Thank you for your patience.
