Beginning today, no new classified ads will be accepted for placement in the Second Life directory until version 1.7 is released. However, you may still place ads in the Forum Classifieds section. Unless requested otherwise, all ads currently running will be left up until 1.7 is released (at no additional charge). This is necessary because we need to transfer the ad database during the next few weeks leading up to the release of 1.7.

In 1.7, our new and improved classifieds system will allow you to completely manage your own ad placement. To see how this will work, simply download our preview release at http://secondlife.com/downloads/preview.php. After install, right click your avatar, select 'profile' and the classified tab.
