Note: this information covers the existing themed communities in Dore, Bonifacio, and Oak Grove.

Although only a few weeks old, most of the official themed communities have made great progress in creating new additions to the SL landscape and community. We know that you guys have grand plans for expansion and are looking for higher object limits and more land. The following roadmap explains what we're hoping to see in a themed community and the associated land/object rewards.

By creating incredible buildings, unique events, amazing content and diverse SL residents, these communities will no doubt become an important part of the SL landscape and the social fabric. We believe that many of you will soon complete Stage 2 and be ready to pursue the next set of goals.

Stage 1
======
Goals:
* Develop a theme, proposal and group ready to start building

Reward:
* Land parcel, 2000 object building limit

Stage 2
=====
Goals:
* Community size of 5+ residents who have formed and belong to a group (note: residents may belong to multiple themed communities but can only count towards community size goal for one group). To be considered a "group member" the SL resident should also own property within the themed community.
* Several thematic buildings and other content with interactive properties (lights, doors, etc)
* A self-guided tour notecard which can be used by visitors to navigate your themed community. Should explain at least five stops on the tour and could include landmarks, screenshots, or thematic objects. This note should also include a general description of your community.
* Three events held within the community and listed on the event calendar. These events don't necessarily need to be linked to your theme, just run by group members and held within the themed community.

Reward:
* +1000 objects and 10 scripts to use in building and stocking the store

Stage 3
=====
Goals:
* Community size of 15+ residents who have formed and belong to a group
* Community has three people serving as Mentors within Second Life
* Themed community has at least one store where objects, clothing and other theme-related content is sold
* A group officer has been appointed as a Home Owner Association President role for the their themed community. This involves being a point of contact for Linden, enforcing zoning regulations, and generally helping to move towards self-governance.
* Three public events held weekly

Reward:
* 1/4 simulator parcel on adjacent sim, 3000 object limit for that new space

Note: Stage 3 goals must be met for four consecutive weeks before progressing to Stage 4

Stage 4
=====
Goals:
* Community size of 30+ residents who have formed and belong to a group
* Five people serving as Mentors within Second Life
* Themed community has at least one store where objects, clothing and other theme-related content is sold
* A unique, thematic interactive experience (for example, shooting gallery, haunted house, gambling hall)
* Seven public events held weekly
* Commercial district comprised of several storefronts
* Community works with Linden to set up a self-governing structure. This is TBD but could include creating a charter, voting process and other guidelines. As we've always discussed, the idea in Second Life is to let the residents guide its development. We'll be working to add more self-governance features to the system and see the themed communities participating in this process.

Goals:
* another 1/2 simulator parcel on adjacent sim + a buffer zone between other regions, +5000 objects

Note: Stage 3 goals must be met for four consecutive weeks before progressing to Stage 4. If two months pass without moving to Stage 4, portions of the simulator may be opened to other residents.

Stage 5 and Beyond
=====
Okay, we admit it - there's not a design yet for Stage 5 : But we fundamentally believe the themed communities should be able to keep growing and evolving so once Stage 4 is reached we will talk further about how to extend the roadmap.
