While everything else in Second Life has grown and evolved, one place has remained constant and eternal: Jessie. While the name of the land owners and cammo-clad protagonists might ebb and flow, the anything goes, enter at your own risk attitude in Jessie stands out as an island of continuity in an every changing world.

The one thing Jessie has not done is grow. Despite wave after wave of Resident immigration, the boundaries of Second Life's only all-damage region have remained steadfastly fixed -- and Jessie is now all but bursting at the seams. The Residents and fans of Jessie have begged the Governor to give them more space. They pleaded, they've picketed, and we've listened.

Later today, a new damage-enabled region will rise just North of the Clyde border. While Jessie's, um...eclectic architectural style is certainly unique, this new region will operate on the Sandbox principle: there won't be any land owners and any objects and wreckage left littering the area will be wiped at the end of each battle day. Unlike the traditional Sandbox in Cordova -- this one is damage-enabled, rated Mature, and nicely landscaped and contoured for full-on military engagement.
Keep on eye on the map -- Rausch will appear at around 4:40 PST, and you could be the first to score a frag!
