Finding a place to call your own just got a bit easier as we’ve started to release land owned by inactive Beta residents. These land releases will occur over the next few weeks in small batches at random times. A Beta resident is categorized “inactive” if they have not logged into Second Life within the past 28 days.
When we run the process all land and in-world objects owned by the inactive account revert to “public” allowing new Residents to claim or recycle the old content (and get some Linden Dollars for cleaning up the landscape).
Residents looking for this newly available land are advised to check out the “older” territories such as Natoma, Zoe, Ritch and Minna. Happy hunting!

Update 4/25:
Hi Lifers. Just wanted to let you know some more land has been freed up for your use. Again, I'd advise checking Natoma, Zoe, Ritch, Freelon and DaBoom as these tend to be "older" parts of the world.

FYI - we've moved to doing some spring cleaning several times a week, so old land should be available on a fairly regular basis.
Check older areas such as Tehama, Freelon, and Natoma for newly public land.
Enjoy!

5/27 Update
05-27-2003 11:10
We've cleaned up some regions as of this morning so check out the gird today for more spring cleaning opportunities.
As an interesting note, more than L$20,000 has been claimed by residents recycling public objects during the past two weeks!
