Should the rigifity of a flexible object change based on how far away I am from it? I've discovered that these flexible rotating and spiraling columns I've made bend over further as I approach them. Here I am far enough away that they all stand up. http://www.jpj.net/~scalar/sl/06May-FlexFar.jpgAs I approach the closest three have visibily flopped down further than before, and they lterally do flop down like that with springy swinging motions. http://www.jpj.net/~scalar/sl/06May-FlexMid.jpgHere's close enough that they all now bent over further: http://www.jpj.net/~scalar/sl/06May-FlexNear.jpgWhen I move away they perk back up again. You prims! You will BOW down to me, your creator, when I am in your presence! Else you face my smiteful derezzing... -Scalar

Flex prim framerate varies relative to camera distance and what else is being rendered. The closer the cam is, and the less other things are being rendered, the faster/smoother flex prims will be (including tension, drag, etc), and vice versa. Yes, it's annoying, but I'm not sure what could be done to improve it other than, perhaps, giving flex prims more "render priority" or something.

Does this mean my flexible attachment will go limp every time a lovely woman approaches?

Haha, no Selador. The other way around. A a very rigid flex prim will stay the same when you approach, but a very floppy flex prim will appear more rigid from afar.
