On my desktop system (Athlon XP 2600+, NVidia FX5600), my frame rate has plummeted in the latest preview. On this system, turning on the vertex shaders was a performance killer (known problem with the NVidia FX5000 series), so I kept them turned off... but in the latest version, there is no on-off option. I know that some of the vertex shader stuff was taken out of the latest build because of problems that people had with it, but the big performance hit suggests that SOME of it is automatically on, and I can't get rid of it.
My laptop with the Radeon XPress 200M continues to love Preview; noticeably better frame rates than the main grid. But that video interface doesn't implement vertex shaders at all -- if you tried to turn them on in previous versions of preview, you got an error message saying "can't do that". So the OTHER client improvments are presumably working.

I dunno man, my 6600GT took a big hit today as well. Opened up my fast timers and it was going berzerk.

Well. here is my experience with 1.9.1.24: I took a BIG performance plummet as well. I have an ati radeon fx200 128mb and it *used to* like the preview...untill the 24 build. Now i can harldy turn around, much less walk. I have to turn pretty much everything down to minimum. Guess its going to be either walk around with a distorted veiw of everything, or quit untill I can afford a bigger card. Bus a s i pointed out earlier...I *used to* be able to walk around the preview with at least medium setting and have a great framerate..that was in the .13 release. anything after that has shot my fps to crap.
