occlusion details

Does EVERY prim (box/cube only?) will occlude other prims (only? what about avs, particles, etc?)? Isn't that "expensive" to calculate all those occlusion planes? A little more technical details, please...

Steve Linden told me it doesn't affect avs or LOD recalculation (which is the good chunk of the render lag!).

Its abit more complicated than that, Occlusion culling will also not draw prims that are behind terrain and vice versa terrain will not be drawn behind a prim

More details can be found in the post at the top, and im sure more info will come out as the days go on, there is an info display to see what is being culled, which is in the debug menu > rendering > info displays > Octree

Also to note that lower end graphics cards dont support occlusion, this can be seen if the object - object occlusion option is greyed out in debug > rendering
