Flexi prims falling out

I've been toying around with flexi prim hair a lot but one thing I noticed is if I have a number of them linked up and worn if I move in any direction quickly some will fall out then catch back up soon after. This does not seem to be seen by all though as when I asked another to watch for a while he saw no problems. So has anyone else seen something like this before?

I have a dual 1 GHz G4 PowerMac with a GeForce4 Ti 4600 128MB video card and OS X 10.4.6.

See the linked image below for an example.

Yep, I've seen it often and even when editing any linked prim; its wireframe outline is out of sync with the prim shape but reducing light detail from one of the "all local lights" options fixes it. There are clearly issues with those light options since they also affect framerate with lots of flex prims, lights, and even slide/rotate texture animation.
