Editing modifyable linked objects

Okay, this one I haven't been able to test as whenever I'm on the preview grid there seems to be no-one around to test it with, and I don't have any alt accounts (signing one up wouldn't help anyway due to the birth-based restriction!).

Basically, on the main-grid;

Get someone you know to create several prims and link them into one object. Have them allow you to modify their objects (note: I mean the option that says "Allow user to modify my objects" or such, not to buy/transfer the object(s)).

Anyway, the person who now has permission to edit, should try to edit individual prims in the linked set.

Observed Results in 1.9.0: You can't, switching to 'edit linked parts' or attempting to select only a single texture on the object causes it to be deselected. The only changes you can make are to an entire object. This is a pain because I was trying to retexture the floor of someone's build where I have permission to edit (I helped build other parts), but it won't let me. I had to replace the whole floor instead, otherwise the texture would have been applied to ceiling of the floor beneath.

I'm wondering if this still occurs in 1.10 as it's annoying as anything, if someone could let me know then I'll bug report it or something :)

I'm not sure about 1.9 but i've been able to do this in 1.10, granting a person modify rights via the friends menu, then they were able to edit a linked part, select texture and paint one side of that prim.
