Linden Lab is changing SL's underlying graphics code away from CG (a proprietary Nvidia shading language) and into GLSL (Open GL Shading Language,) an open standard.

Interestingly, LL claims that they scaled back their GLSL efforts because their tests revealed that some graphics card's drivers dont support GLSL very well. Remember this thread?
