Steps to reproduce the bug: Create 7 lit prims spaced far enough apart that their lights can be distinguished from each other (crude 3D ASCII diagram but should look like a 3D axis with the lights at the ends of each line): * * * * * * * Put your av in the middle of the light array. Select (or focus the cam on) the lit prim furthest from your av. Note: selecting the prim won't always keep the selected prim's light on after the pie menu goes away (after selecting "Edit", for example), oddly. Observed results: The selected prim lights up and causes one of the other lights to disappear. I realize this is due to the 6 hardware light limit but why does the selected/focused lit prim light up even though the av/camera position hasn't changed? Expected results: Lights should remain consistent relative to av/camera position at all times.

It will light up because a selected light prim gains priority over others, the same way a selected prim gains decode priority over the images it is showing.
Only the person selecting the prim will see this effect

But it's not just with a selected prim, Milo. Focusing the camera on a lit prim does it too. However, selecting a prim doesn't usually keep the prim's light showing, as evidenced in a linked object. The light only appears on an UNLINKED prim when the pie menu is displayed; as soon as "Edit" is selected, the light disappears again. This is a bug.
