1.9.1--10 Mac Can't log in

I have to use version 1.9.0---21 as I can't log into the newer one. I can log in the the older one just fine. I get an error saying please try again later?

Just wondering why it will not let me.

As far as stated in 101501 the preview grid that is accessed by 1.9.1, the preview version of an *upcoming* viewer release, isn't running at the moment and an up-and-running announcement wasn't posted until now. To point out, the preview grid isn't only a software preview, in fact the preview grid runs a few sims with only some content and there are only testers who check out the new features. If you don't have the intent to do testing of either your stuff/new functionality or build new stuff with the upcoming functionality, there is no real reason to go their. And if you are curious about more, read about it in /290/1.html.
1.9.0-21 is the latest official viewer and only this viewer accesses the public grid. You should be fine with that (and if you're not, there is nothing better...). Furthermore you will get subsequent releases for new viewers available for the public grid announced by the client and automatically delivered by the integrated update service.
