When I see a post made by someone using "two dollar words" that are spelled incorrectly, it really makes me laugh because it reminds me of my little nephew when he uses "grown up" words but misprounounces them.
I know chat is considered an informal method of communication, one where shortcuts are used to facilitate and speed the typing process, but it seems to me that when a resmod opines about a subject, speaking as if from a a position of authority and higher knowledge, they should at least spell the words they use correctly. Is it so hard to use spell check when you are part of the Linden appointed leadership?
Maybe the resod program is more like being a security guard and a basic education that includes proper spelling isn't really required, but since Jeska said the resmods are our appinted leadership I really would like to think some brains would be required with the editing brawn.
I seem to lose respect for an opinion rendered sloppily, after all, if they don't care enough about their opinion/warning/reprimand to take the time to look up a word, then why should I, or anyone, care about what they have to say?

Maybe an in-world spelling/grammar class would be apropos?By the way, your sentence structure here might need a little work: From: someone Maybe the resod program is more like being a security guard and a basic education that includes proper spelling isn't really required, but since Jeska said the resmods are our appinted leadership I really would like to think some brains would be required with the editing brawn.
I would edit it as follows: From: someone Maybe the ResMod program is more like being a security guard and a basic education that includes proper spelling isn't really required. Misplaced commas, misspelled words, and long, run-on sentences can have a detrimental effect when one is complaining about other people's spelling and grammar.

Hmmm... I'm not the best speller but I like to learn. And hopefully since I'm a Linden, I'll live by example. I'm mindful too that some people have a difficult time spelling if they have, say, dyslexia, but I can feel a real motivation that they want to get things done. I think in combination with spelling, clarity of diction and an accessible tone are important for expressing one's personal style. That certainly applies for ResMods--communication. I know some scripters who are lousy spellers but can program so precisely... that amazes me to this day. If we help to improve each other and encourage one another positively, we'll all get better--and that's certainly what the ResMod programme is about.

I don't care if they can spell or not. (In fact, I don't care if anyone can spell or not.)
I do care that other residents have been appointed to s-called positions of leadership over me, which I don't respect or pay any attention to, except to do as I'm told so my ass isn't grass, whether it makes any sense or not.
As far as any kind of "higher knowledge" is concerned, I don't know. Knowledge of what? Scripting? Computers? I wouldn't be surprised.

Resmods can spell? Haven't been able to notice since I don't read their posts.

Some of us just stink at spelling, period *coughmecough*. I have a spellchecker utility in my taskbar that flashes when I screw up a word (tinyspell, google it, I highly recomend it) but I don't always pay attention to it when I'm just dashing off a quick post.

From: Taco Rubio why isn't there a "less than don't care" option? because polls suck? ***EDIT, not a reflection on the poll here, I think all polls suck, unless they say what I want them to say

If you voted yes on the "Do You Ignore the ResMods?" poll, you should not vote in this poll. Spelling can't be said to be an issue for you if you aren't looking at their posts.

From: Karsten Rutledge I'm not sure why, but I find this diatribe amusing coming from someone who didn't even bother capitalizing their own name. I find it equally amusing, what with words such as resod, misprounounces and wonderful sentence structure like "from a a position". I think I would have followed my own advice before clicking that Submit button.
