Your reasoning is WAY wacked:
"This forum is for questions that there is a reasonable expectation that answers can be tested in a timely fashion. The questions proposed in the other thread were asking the effects of policies that have yet to come into effect. The questions lack the expectation of answers that can be tested. "*locks*"
Look, I really don't know what you are talking about here. Those threads were FULL of questions and answers, solicited or not, that not only could be answered, but WERE being answered.
Raymond Figtree's thread title made it perfectly clear to you, since you appeared to be having difficulty with the concept, that the thread was for QUESTIONS ABOUT VOICE.
And yet you lock it, too?
People ARE capable of telling me, for instance, what sort of computer things you need to run it.
Voice IS on the beta grid; people HAVE had experience with it; and they CAN tell us what they learned.
And as for this "answers that can be tested" - this is RIDICULOUS. RIDICULOUS. ANSWERS AREN'T THINGS TO BE TESTED.
Apparently you are living inside a computer, or turned into a mash of bits and bytes or something, or think everything is merely a high school lab assignment.
We don't ASK questions and get answers IN ORDER TO TEST THEM.
Policies yet to come into effect? Have I misunderstood something, or weren't those threads about VOICE? Voice isn't a policy to come into effect! It is a feature ALREADY IN EFFECT.
I think you need to admit you have made a mistake here, and reopen those most USEFUL threads.

Strife's probably just administering the forum rules that the management have agreed on. If there isn't a place for this particular discussion here why not simply discuss it on one of the other secondlife fansites and save the confrontations? If you do, then let me know where it's moved to as I'd like to follow it there

From: Zephyrin Zabelin Strife's probably just administering the forum rules that the management have agreed on. Can you link us all to the rules that would apply to why that thread was closed? Shouldn't we all be able to see these RULES that apply to us? Seems fair. From: Colette Meiji Theres been a voice chat thread going on in Beta Forums for a while I guess thats technically where it belongs. Then maybe it should have been *moved* instead of *locked* LOL Thanks. k. bye.

I’ve been following that thread and believed it was one of the more productive threads on Voice. Mainly because I see more people are actually going to the beta grid and TESTING voice. Sure, there are still strong opinions but they are educated opinions based on experience. Ditto…Way Wacked! /me continues trolling for voice threads

Yes it had been a very informative thread. Shocked and saddened when it was locked. Real questions and answers seemed to be in there. Things like whether voice worked on older computers, and responses from those who used it in Beta.

You are more than welcome to come over to us at Stratics ( http://sl.stratics.com) and talk about Voice Chat to your heart's content. Signup is free and easy, moderating policy is laid back and relaxed, and we have no problem with the subject. We're also part of the world's largest MMORPG multi-community site, so you have that assurance of standard too. As I type, we're holding a "House of Commons" chat - a bit like Town Hall only better - with the World of Warcraft community and its development team. Not that it's relevant to SL but I thought I'd mention it. Broccoli Curry Stratics Second Life News Team

Its this simple

There have always been certain people who do not wish to hear things that seem unpleasant to them. It is human nature. There are certain people or groups of people who do not wish to have certain topics discussed in this forum, just as the British government did not want to listen to Thomas Jefferson and John & Abigail Adams; just as the French royalty and nobility did not want to listen to the Etats-Generaux. So, human nature being human nature, they did not listen.
Instead of listening to the voices of complaint what they did hear, LOUD and CLEAR were the crack of rifle shots at Lexington Green and Concord Bridge, cries of the crowd as it dismantled the Bastille and the creak and groan of wooden wheels as the carts went through Paris carrying those who would not listen to the guillotine [sp?]. Of course by that time it was too late to listen.
Noooo, I am not advocating violence of any kind whatsoever. I am pointing out historical facts as an analogy to the current...um...deafness of LL to customer concerns.

From: Susanne Pascale I am pointing out historical facts as an analogy to the current...um...deafness of LL to customer concerns. It appears that history does not always repeat itself. There has been no revolution, violent or otherwise, so far as I can tell.

OMG someone needs a hug today. Frankly I think the monitors do good work. Under the conditions they are subjected to. Have you ever ran a BB or been in charge? I have and I say this its not easy!
