Isn't it obvious? You are polluting the "New Posts" search with what is essentially Linden-initiated necroposting. Why bring attention to a thread that is dead and cannot be discussed any more? For example... Every time I visit the forums I hit "New Posts". I just got a list of new posts, and out of the first page of 25 results, about eight of them were Torley copy and pasting some paragraph from the Forum guidelines to threads that have been dead for more than 20-24 hours that have moved WAY off the first few pages of thread. Why? I only see a need for a Linden to comment on a thread if its being reopened.

From: Aaron Levy Isn't it obvious? It's pretty obviously because if a Linden doesn't confirm it, the trolls will keep whining about the ResMods closing them. This way, LL are confirming that they agree with the decision, allbeit late.

For a couple of reasons actualy. If the thread needs editing, and if the ResMods are unsure as to what action is needed, or to have it come to Linden attention who is violating the rules and may be in need of some intervention.

From: Strife Onizuka to have it come to Linden attention who is violating the rules and may be in need of some intervention. This doesn't happen unless Torley posts an official closure notice? Couldn't they just add a Linden EDIT to the final RM post so as to avoid going to the new posts page? Something along these lines... "This Thread Closure has received the official LL stamp of approval "

This reminds me of when it was actively being discussed about the Classifieds forums being no-bump with replies.
I was thinking of the same thing too earlier--well, I want to add on, but, posting a reply to the end is not the smoothest flow.
So, thank you for the ideas...
I am going to edit the final post instead of posting another one and bumping the thread.
This way, Linden confirmation can be added, and keep the threads down.
Let's see how it goes.

Let's see how it goes. Torley, I have seen some things I am not happy about since you became a linden, but threads like this make me hope you keep the Torley spirit alive despite what you are going to have to deal with in other words, don't ever change!
