Given that since resmods don't see the identity of the person filing a bad post report, there is no way for them to know for sure, do y'all resmods see many bad post reports that seem to be about personal attacks on someone other than the person making the report?

Non official:
Mostly people report attacks made against them. Most people seem to ignore personal attacks agianst others. Unless the attack is not PG, then we hear from them on that. _____________________

How do you know, Strife, if you don't know who is making the report? coco P.S. I no longer report anything. When I did, I signed it. _____________________

That's what I thought.
Now let me ask you this: Calling another resident a douchebag isn't a personal attack, is it? coco _____________________

And BTW that was one of my FAV remarks in the forums to date. I watched Forest Gump last night....AGAIN! 'douchebag is as douchebag does' comes to mind _____________________

Depends if they're a douchebag or not.. It's a bit of a catch-22. If they are indeed a douchebag, they can report you for revealing RL info. _____________________

First, it depends on the ResMod.
It depends how biting the insults are and the intent. My advise, if its not libel ignore it. BTW: I like that catch-22 analysis, I'll have to use that _____________________

It depends on the resmod?
So - it doesn't depend on the rules as they read in the TOS? And it depends at least partly on subjective interpretation of intent? coco _____________________

It is disappointing to see the use to which the thread I started is being put.
Disappointing but not surprising. _____________________

Many people with personal attacks say "this is a personal attack of myself" and so on.

And it depends at least partly on subjective interpretation of intent? coco Each resmod has a different understanding of the rules, and we do talk them over as to form a more cohesive understanding. That said there will always be differences. The rules we enforce are found in the TOS, CS, & Forum Guildlines. For minor infractions it's up to us to decide how they should be enforced. You will find this is the case for all rule governed societies and groups. _____________________

You will find this is the case for all rule governed societies and groups. Well, you seem quite satisfied with that response, Strife. But the rules you enforce, found in the TOS, CS, and Forum Guidelines, are only enforced SOMETIMES. There are huge egregious attacks done on these forums which are not enforced at all, which are in no way "minor" infractions. While others receive warnings and suspensions for less. Why, for example, did you let Siggy get away with calling Anshe a douchebag and making fun of her English? Malachi got a three-day suspension for writing in pidgeon English. I know that was reported, and last I looked - which was a day or so ago - it hadn't even been EDITED. If that is "minor," then what is major? If that doesn't go against the very words and spirit of the TOS, and on more than one count, then what does? How do you explain this? This is still sitting there, on your shift. And it was AR'd. Not to mention, other people get official warnings and suspensions for far less. I do not like a forums where people are treated like that, called "douchebag" and worse, and belittled for their ethnicity. I like even LESS the fact that such a thing can be reported and nothing will happen, depending on who the person is, and/or who they are attacking. coco _____________________

Each resmod has a different understanding of the rules... AND THAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH THE RESMOD PROGRAM. _____________________
