Woo! A forum especially to bitch about resmods, it seems! Or rather, to hide the bitching about resmods a few levels deep under a little used section on volunteers and education. So now the resmods job will presumably mainly consist of moving posts about them from general to a backwater forum. Irony.
Now if they'd only do the same for everything else people like to bitch about...
Where was the Impeach Bush sign forum when there were 90 friggin threads about it?
Right now we apparently need an abortion forum, too, please. Thanks.

From: Siobhan Taylor LOL you're probably right. I wonder how long this one will take to get there. *ahem* excuse me, I started a perfectly legitimate thread about the resmod forum IN the resmod forum. It's not my fault you're trolling, neither should I be penalised for it!

The other forums in this group are described as follows:
SL Greeters Share your Greeter tips here
SL Instructors and Educators Calling all teachers, instructors and tutors - discuss in-world education here!
SL Live Helpers Share your Live Helping tips here
SL Mentors Discuss all things Mentor here
A simple and elegant system: Title of forum/what is appropriate for forum.
Then we get here: SL ResMod Resident Moderators help in making the forums a better place for the entire community.
my questions about that discription are: a) How exactly? b) is this provable, or just an opinion? c) how does this comment in anyway describe this forum? d) why would negative or questioning posts about resmods/the resmod system be moved here? e) what SHOULD be placed here? By the description, shouldnt' this be a place to make posts about how "Resident Moderators help in making the forums a better place for the entire community." f) why come we can always find inconsistancies, but the people who get paid to do things there don't?
Thanks, science!

ooh, good save, Taco.
And I totally agree. Re the description - "Resident Moderators help in making the forums a better place for the entire community.", I'd say this is a flat out lie, but I'm sure that the Lindens didn't mean to intentionally mislead.

If they did the majority on two polls wouldn't say get rid of the program. Quit with the lying LL.

An since we're on the subject, Cybin made me hope that this program wouldn't be yet another harebrained dismal failure like so many LL "great ideas" before it. Thank you, Elle, for restablishing my realism.

Thanks, science! Taco, Taco, Taco. Because a) and b) are still being hotly debated, and I think c) could be re-worded, "Help Resident Moderators make the forums a better place for the entire community," if we take the re-wording of c) for granted, then d) follows naturally. If one does, in fact, keep that re-wording in mind, then e) would include anything at all that pertains to making the forums better (especially insights regarding the function of and success or failure of the Resident Moderator program) including but not limited to f).

Hmm. So this is what it looks like inside of a file cabinet. That's where we go, right?

It's a three-prong plan. First, create a new forum that no one will ever see or care about (except resmods) and then give it a "description" which implies that the posts there should have something to do with that "description." Merely having the forum gives weight and permanence to a remod plan which(unscientific) polls have already shown is very unpopular. That'll show us! Second, move everybody who says anything about not liking the program into this new forum where they will be contained and basically out of sight. Let this go on for a while. Then, third, announce that the resmod forum is too demoralizing for the resmods, whose forum it is after all, and who might well expect - thanks to the "description" - to find good stuff in there (i.e., praise or at least "constructive criticism," as in, "could you tweak this or that part of this wonderful program" . The solution for that problem will be to no longer allow "attacks on the group of resmods" (i.e., the program itself) in the resmod forum. coco
