Something a bit different... How many of you have SL running on your Linux laptops? Here's my setup:
HP Omnibook 4150b 500Mhz P3 processor 512 megs RAM ATI Rage Mobility (8M VRAM) 20 gig HD Runs latest update of Gentoo Linux
EDIT:I haven't run SL on this laptop yet.

EDIT:I haven't run SL on this laptop yet. You may have difficult running on only 8Mb vram, the minimum sl supports is 16Mb and even then that setting doesnt look good inworld (lots of texture swapping)

I'm not even supposed to be here yet; I need to email Cory on that... but though it isn't a laptop, this may be interesting:
I got the build 'running' (more like walking; 3-4 FPS @ 800x600, all settings min) on an AMD K6-2 400mhz, 512mb of PC100 memory. Using FC4. More on this if I can actually end up joining in here.
But if this isn't one of the slowest machines to run SL, I don't know what is.

I think its abit early to tell on the final performance as everything isnt hooked in with the client, but i would say although the graphics card will still be important, just due to the amount of texture ram needed and rendering speed, i'll guess that the amount of ram will be less although still need to be around 512 especially when used with a good graphics card 256MB etc as it allocates more ram for texture cache. but without the windows overhead, the cpu requirment will be slightly lower, but still consider that with more cpu you usually get better speeds. So will guess the minimum spec will be similar spec to the pc if not the same, although on this minimum it may work slightly better.

My spec (as read in HardDrake): - Compaq Presario 2100 Authentic AMD XP2800+ (underclocked at factory, I think. Need to fix that) 512 MB DIMM RAM (two sticks of 256) Radeon IGP 320 Mobile (unsupported; running at 16MB cache in alpha viewer) Internal Wifi (via home Wireless-G v.2) Current OS build: Mandriva 2006, 2.6.12-15 kernel (rebuilt) Ran pretty well! (Edit: Further info here)

LG Xnote LS50a 512 Megs Ram 1 gigh think it's a centrino 855GME intel graphics card.
os Ubuntu 5.10 connection wi-fi
anyway, game runs ok. have everything turned down and I'm getting 5 - 8 FPS however my avatar doesn't show up and there's some glitches where it renders these big green slices of stuff in the middle of the screen.
peace, A

Mine wont play - will only give me opengl in 16bit, I suspect its crummy drivers and that if I were to put windows on it would run (pointlessly slow mind).
