First off, I must apologize if this has already been covered, or if it is an other wise stupid question. I also apologize if this is the incorrect place.

I have Linux Ubuntu, and I have been trying to download SL onto my computer. I thought I had it, but when I try to start up, it tells me that I must download the new version (1.22.11.113941, it says). I searched that exact version, then downloaded it, and still the message shows up.

A new version of Second Life is available.
(Required version: 1.22.11.113941.)

You must download this update to use Second Life.

Download to your Applications folder?

Then it has option s for Download and quite. I hit download and it says:

From: someone
Automatic updating is not yet implemented for Linux.
Please download the latest version from www.secondlife.com.

I am not sure what to do, since I have already downloaded that version. I searched that number (1.22.11.113941.) and downloaded what I found.

Can someone tell me what I am missing?

Just hit quit, and start the viewer again. For reasons unknown, that forced-update message likes to come up the first time a new release is used.
