Hi all...

I am on Ubuntu 7.04 and on Debian Etch.
I tried the client 1_17_1_0 up to 1_17_3_0 and all of them worked out of the box. I just downloaded them, unpacked the file and started it with ./secondlife.

I must admit I was very surprised that it seems to work that easily.
Of course there are some glitches as in graphics and my friends list does not work as it is supposed to work (people being listed offline, however they stand in front of me in SL).
Nevertheless I am quite positively surprised and I hope quality will increase (not decrease)...;)

Just wanted to let me you know that there are some linux users out there who have not yet experienced that much troubles....hope it stays so...;)

Thanks

I want to second that.

I have been using the alpha since before it was a REAL Alpha :D and even then, I have not had anything I would call a big problem. I even had Mac Users getting all bitter and twisted 'cos my Linx Client was more stable and easier to use than their "official" Mac Clients were :p And it really WAS an Alpha Client those days!

/me waves to Lee :D

There is NO comparison to what the client is now, Thank You Tofu!!!
