I got Second Life running in Windows XP and Ubuntu-Linux (Edgy Eft) on anAMD X2 and a Nvidia 7900 GT. Worked great, especially the linux-client behaved smoother than the windows one. I loved to play in linux, cause it worked so good.
But this stoped suddenly. About one week ago I wasn't able to log in with my main-avatar "Velvet Tripp" anymore in linux. It just constantly giving me this message after the loading-bar showed for several seconds:

The output from the shell (starting at the button "connect" pushed) looks like this:

Things i know about this error:
- I already filed a bug-report.
- This just happens to the avatar called "Velvet Tripp" - other Avatars can log in fine from that machine.
- This just happens with "Velvet Tripp" on the linux-client - "Velvet Tripp" works great on my windows-client.
- This is reproduceable on an other PC: Velvet Tripp does not work from the Linux-Client.
- I cleared the cache, reinstalled the game to another location - nothing worked.
- I removed the special chars from Velvet Tripps password. But other avatars can login with those special keys in the password.
- I repositioned the char to another location (without streaming music, video), put all clothing and attachments off and tried to relog again from linux: doesnt work.
- It happened about 10 days ago for the first time. After 5 days of those loginproblems , it suddenly worked again for one day, but since then I cant login again.
- Its wierd and i hope it will be fixed soon. Ill help as much possible to find and reproduce that bug.
I hope i found some one with the same error in here and a linden, how takes on that bug.
Kind regards,
Velvet Tripp, sad.
