Just letting you know your not the only one, this version is terrible, main reason being the crashes, there is nothing I do in particular that causes it either, just seems random, but one things for sure it crashes every 0-15 minutes guaranteed (yes I think made it to 15 minutes !! yay).

Only thing we can do is keep reporting the bug, I must admit I'm slightly disappointed as the RC6 to 8 were quite acceptable for me.

Well, I for one have more stability with this one than with RC8. I actually stayed online for 4 hours without crashing, the animations look smoother, and the textures are rezzing way faster than with the previous RC.

For me rc8 wasn't crashing on every tp.

And I'm very afraid on that bump & shiny thing :s

Logging Level

You can make the logging more or less verbose:

Edit app_settings/logcontrol.xml

At the top, change default-level key to one of the levels listed in the line above it.
You can also set print-location key to true and see which source file and line number logs the message.

It works very nice on my debian testing: Pentium dual core 3GB, nvidia 8500 fanless 512 MB.
The only problem I have is to store the texture memory size pref. I always place it at its maximum, but with RC9, it is resetted to default each time I exit the program.

Oh, one thing is boring me however: the new stats window. The old one was a lot better because it displayed in 1st person view mode, its opened state was saved and its size was auto-adjusted, so I didn't have to re-setup it each time I launch SL (I use it really often for now). Saving the opened/closed items states would also be really great.

RC9 has been fine for me (Hardy Heron, ATI Radeon Xpress 200M, ATI Catalyst 8.4 -- NOT the older ATI drivers from Ubuntu). Catalyst 8.5 was borked though (total system freezes!); had to revert to 8.4.

Testing rc10 at this time.

Seems all clear, tp working, shiny is back.
