I installed Ubuntu via the Wubi.exe application. I then used System/Administration/Hardware Drivers to install my Nvidia graphics card (its needed to run Second Life). It says I need to restart my pc, so I do. Once it gets to where the desktop should be, my monitor turns off. So I have to reboot and hit [ESC] as it boots and run the recovery kernel. So, what should I do to get this Nvidia card driver installed and running?

Here are my PC specs (retrieved by typing "lspci" in my terminal):

Have you tried disabling all Desktop effects ?

My first problems in running SL in 8.04 was because of that.
