I have to say that this is a very nice version of the viewer, everything seems to be smoother...my FPS has increased a lot and the release key has FINALLY moved. Everything under my Ubuntu 8.04 seems to work very nice, and i love how the download file size has gone from 50mb to 35mb :) very nice

I hope they keep this good work up :)

I've got to say that so far the 1.21RC0 is a big step up, but with one small letdown:
https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-219

Maybe we'll get lucky in RC1 :D

Anyone using it with an ATI X800? If so, does the menu text display correctly?

Kubuntu 8.04 w/ proprietary NVIDIA drivers

I can't be sure what Briana's referring to, but when I run the latest RC (1.21.0.95157), a.k.a. http://release-candidate-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/SecondLife-i686-1.21.0.95157.tar.bz2, I find that all sitting avatars are rotated 90 degrees.

That'd be http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8735
As the current nightly build (1.21.0.95368) already include some fix for it, the issue will probably be cured with the next RC iteration (RC1).

Other minor things about the RC
08-31-2008 08:04
They should change the UI button sounds back to the dull thump and lose the iritating high pitched crack, plus reset the the gesture menu on the chat bar back to alphabetical and not the random mess I got.

As for the other bugs, they are being worked on, but of course the first RC of anything is bound to have more bugs than later ones.;)

You still need to change the libopenal on lib directory with this one:

http://dune2.dyndns.org/projects/pulseaudio/openal-soft/libopenal.so.1

as described here: /263/9d/255579/1.html

and it work right (just like 1.20)
