Well, I got something to write about.
I'm taking the ATI plunge with a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop. It's got a Radeon X1300 GPU.
Other than installing fglrx, and blacklisting the "L" extention, any pitfalls on this? I'll have to make sure I can peg the graphics memory back to where it's all dedicated, from what I hear.

Hi. Since the -l option, my ati X1300 card has been VERY stable (in SL at least, it still manages to hard-lock on X-server logout occasionally).
But I am still getting a nVidia next upgrade!
Probably
Unless AMD takes a whip to the former ATI people and fixes their act for them.
