have ubuntu 9.1. I'm uing nvidia geforce 8400gs graphics card and i've installed the drivers from the package manager 185.18.36. i checked the nvidia site and those are the latest drivers. but when i try to execute second life it can't draw the window.
I've read the help, but i can't find the area where i can check if i'm using 32 bit color, my card is listed in the good cards for sl, and like i said i have the latest drivers installed. i'm just confused on what can be the issue.
can anybody help with getting it to create the window?
Thanks
w00t \o/ i can't believe i got this thing working. hehe

After installing the drivers for the Nvidia graphics card. I had to activate them. To do that I went into Sytem/Administration/Hardware Drivers. it found the drivers for the Nvidia card, at the bottom of the window is the button to activate. after doing that and making sure that I had at least 24 bit color selected Second Life had no problem loading.
