Hi All!

I just want to have the secondlife run on my Ubuntu Dapper drake with a Asus N6200 graphics card but I get a popup where there stands: Window creation error.
Anybody have an idea, how on earth I could get it to work?

Hugs

Michelle

Video Not Configured

That message simply means that your video drivers for Linux aren't configured. By default, many Linux distributions install with a general open source version of the driver that only does GLX (graphics acceleration) through a general (but handly) library called Mesa. However, SL wont run with it so you'll need the manufacturers driver to use GLX and run Second Life. Luckily distros like Unbuntu and Mepis have prepackaged versions of the manufacturers driver. They're usually named for nVidia card: nvidia-glx or for ATi cards: fglrx

Go here and find out if glx is working

Check your color depth

look in /etc/X11/xorg.conf and be sure the DefaultDepth is not set lower than 24. the default is 16. which will create a window dreation error even if you have the 3d drivers are setup properly.

Can you give us what prints out of "lspci" as root?

Hello,
I had the same problem, the easy solution is to install your drivers (if you have an nvidia card) with the program: envy
