I have no sound at all in my linux Sl.sound works in all other applications im using Ubuntu breezy badger with all current updates.
booting to windows and sound works fine in sl.

Sound isn't supported in the LInux client, not a peep.
Chances are you would be better installing wine and switching to the windows client anyway, things are not looking hopefull for an updated Linux client later today :/
