Well, what did you try?

Try this:

Open a terminal, and...

cd <Secondlife Dir>
./secondlife

Enjoy.

Simple method:

cd to your homedir
untar the package
cd into the SecondLife-linux-02012006 directory it makes
type "./secondlife"

There's not much point in trying to install it into /usr/local/anything at the moment since it's not apparently set up to be installed system-wide yet. It'll need to write to directories inside the directory you just created (and we're not Windows users so we don't run things as root!).

Once I opened the map it crashed the client. Is there also a way to get this to run better then 16mb graphics. I mean sheesh I have a Geforce 6200 that Linux supports fine.
