Hi,
I have downloaded Second Life 1.20.15 (92456) for linux, everything works fine except for video playing. I cannot see any in-world video, every time, I click on the play bottom, it stops immediately, I totally have no idea why. I have read the instructions, and install GStreamer 0.10 as required, but the problem still there.
Appreciate your help!
Peng

GStreamer supports diverse stream and file formats via plugins. So you might have to install those plugins, too. As far as I know, a complete list of all gstreamer plugins needed to play back all media formats used in Second Life has yet to be compiled, but you can find incomplete lists in past threads of this forum.

From: CyberLink Uladstron I have the same issue, I have GStreamer 0.10 installed with ALL the plugins and still get nothing. This falsely assumes there are a limited number of gstreamer plugins. Run us through exactly what you did, step by step, and paste what kinds of codec-looking lines you get from the terminal SL is running in when you try playing media.

Peng You didn't state which Linux distro you're using, so I'm going to assume Ubuntu. If you're using something else, then adjust accordingly. Ubuntu provides four major plugin packs for gstreamer: -base, -good, -bad, and -ugly. Installing all four should get the vast majority of video streams to work for you again. Be aware that streaming video does not work for 64-bit installs (at least it didn't for a large number of people). At best, it simply won't play. At worst, it will crash your viewer.
