I can use my id with these forums and the windoze client but I see this when I try to connect with Linux:

Looks like you are trying to connect to the ADITI (Beta Test) grid. If your account is newer, then it will not exist on that grid yet.

Can't login with Linux-client.
02-12-2007 11:36
Hi,

I can't login using the Linux-client. I have no Windows, so I have a problem.

I use SecondLife a lot and since 5AMSLT today I can't seem to get logged in. There is no firewall issue, because I use SecondLife the whole day (sometimes my wife, me and my son are on SecondLife at the same time, using different PC's of course).

From 5AMSLT on every avatar (mine, my wifes or my sons) get the error:
----------------
2007-02-12T19:27:23Z INFO: Options: inventory-root, inventory-skeleton, inventory-lib-root, inventory-lib-owner, inventor
y-skel-lib, initial-outfit, gestures, event_categories, event_notifications, classified_categories, buddy-list, ui-config
, login-flags, global-textures, END
2007-02-12T19:27:23Z INFO: LLUserAuth::authenticate: uri=https://login.agni.lindenlab.com/cgi-bin/login.cgi
----------------
And yes there it ends with a timeout.

I've been using the FirstLook and the regular client, but they have both the same result.

Anybody experiencing the same troubles?

Thanks,
Marcoh, Rebecca and Jonathan.

Problems logging in but only on one computer...
02-16-2007 12:55
I am running Mandriva 2007.0 on a laptop and on a desktop. The laptop is a VAIO with a centrino and an NVidia Go 6400 and the desktop is an AMD64 Athlon (but running 32-bit Mandriva and apps, NOT 64-bit) with an NVidia 7800GT. The desktop also dual-boots to Windows Vista. Both systems operate through the same firewall in a wireless router. The laptop running the linux 1.13.3.2 client logs in and operates on SL just fine as does the desktop when I run SL on Vista but when I try to run the same linux client on the identical Mandriva install on the desktop, it will not login, failing almost immediately. I get a message thus:

Unable to connect to Second Life.
Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong....

The console output is thus:

Any ideas? This is driving me nuts. It isn't the firewall or the linux distro, per se, but must be something more subtle. Surely SL can't have a problem with AMD64s in 32-bit mode?
