All in all I like the new driver, found no problems (FC5). But in troubleshooting an unrelated issue I tried downgrading the driver to the latest stable version and had font issues. Fonts fail to show up until I mouse over them (this effects all applications fonts).

Problems with the new Nvidia Beta under Secondlife
10-09-2006 06:44
Secondlife no longer seems to detect my Nvidia card for what it is and sets it to Class 0 for running secondlife (which sucks) and it seems as slow as hell under the new beta driver...

Even though im using a 256meg GeForce 6200 (GPU 0) with AGP.. Know that AGP doesnt work but this driver has made SL even worse...

Sony CPD-G220R (CRT-0)
The nvidia control panel seems to reconize the card as the 6200 but GLXINFO does not..

Dunno how SL is supposed to magically know what your card is if GLX doesn't!

No GLX used to know what my video card was exactly and SL did as well..

Unfortunatel cut and paste isnt supported of images

Ill gladly show you what the Nvidia driver says is installed using the nvidia control panel
and GLXGears works...

What am i missing here?

Issue with GLX detecting is a known issue with Nvidia Beta driver

Your all WRONG

Emailed this to linux-bugs@nvidia.com
Got a response

John,
Thanks for your email. This is a known bug in 1.0-9625, and will be
resolved in the next driver release.

Thanks,

I thought that was what everyone was saying (i.e. it was a problem with the driver rather than SL) but I'm glad you sorted it out.
