do you have the codecs?

You may need codecs in opensuse as they cripple all things media... Try loading realplayer or xine or whatever your favourite media player is and running the .mov file by hand ... If that fails, install the w32codecs rpm (see pacman, xinehq.de, et al)

That log looks fine, nothing obvious to worry about there so it's still a puzzle that it fails.

When things run okay in Totem - is this 64-bit Totem picking up the 64-big GStreamer plugins? 32-bit SL will need the 32-bit plugins.

I'm getting the exact same message in 32-bit Debian.

Does anything need to be added to $PATH, $LIBPATH or some other variable to point to the GStreamer plugins so SL can find them?

Nope, not as far as I know.

I checked the movie out, it runs at around 75kbps so almost any system in and out of SL should be able to see it, at least that narrows down that issue.
