Search functionality broken?

I'm unable to perform any searches in the Linux client (latest version as of December 1st 2006)
It just says 'Searching...' forever.

Also I can't get anything to show up on the map.

I can fly around and things render okay. (Except sometimes my body is invisible and I'm just a floating head.

Have I screwed up my config? Or is this just a normal Linux thing and maybe I should reboot into Windows?
I'd much rather stay in Linux since that's where I do my coding, listen to my music, etc.

Anyone have any ideas?

So, I tried quitting and reopening the application.
On the fourth try everything worked great.
So it appears to be a little picky :)

But now I'm playing and everything works great so I'm happy :)

Search used to do a search on any of the text associated with a search target.

Search groups for "lucky chair" and one of the found targets started "super awesome lucky chairs..." It is no longer found.

Was this a deliberaate change in functionality or not. Either way can it be reveresed please.

search for "Black Ops" in groups, and get 2 results.
search for "U.S. Black Ops" in groups, and get 3 results.
It is no longer a free-text search.
