the game plays fine, but there are a handfull of textures that never rez, even if you sit for an hour waiting - anybody else experiencing this with this version?

* Fedora Core 4
* KDE 3.5
* home made Kernel (pruned version of 2.6.11)
* X version 11, Xorg 6.8.2
* ATI Radeon drivers for ix86 Linux
* RADEON XPRESS 200M Series, 128MB DDR RAM
* 1.6GHz AMD Sempron 256k (Compaq Presario V2000)
* 512MB PC2700, 1024MB Swap

Sure do.. Been experiencing this since 1.10 came out. I bug reported it, and it did improve for me in the latest version. But its not totally fixed.

The native client does have an existing issue with rezzing textures, however this is not the same as he current bug which also affects win client - Some textures simply fail to rez, even if they have rezzed before in the same session and should be in your cache.

never had that problem with the win client. i think i'm gonna try to run the win32 ver. in wine to see if i'm just finding bad textures or something.

Tweaking the video card memory in settings.ini works well for me:

GraphicsCardMemorySetting 0 for 16Mb
GraphicsCardMemorySetting 1 for 32Mb
GraphicsCardMemorySetting 2 for 64Mb
GraphicsCardMemorySetting 3 for 128Mb
GraphicsCardMemorySetting 4 for 256Mb
GraphicsCardMemorySetting 5 for 512Mb

I've only got a 64Meg card but now I can go into large shops (as I often do!) and all the displays will rez eventually.

With the default of 16MB it was painful...but slightly cheaper :-)

You can force textures to rez by selecting build, then from the popup dialog > edit, and draw a box around everything you need to rez - you don't have to stay in edit mode - hit esc a couple of times to get back to normal .
