Some text messages is representet as very bold letters so they are unreadable.

It seems like the black background/shadow of the text is in the foreground where is should be just beneath the white letters.

When it is possible to highlight the text with the mouse then you can easily read the text like in Edit - Preferences - General - Language it is just a blurred black mass - but when I highlight it with the mouse then I can easily read English which then become white text on black background /shadow (which should be the appearence - I think).

Can I select another way to view such text, change something in my Linux system (Ubuntu 5.10) or should I wait for a new SL for Linux?

I am experiencing exactly the same here on Ubuntu 6.06, I installed the ms core fonts and also the fonts in the SecondLife/fonts directory but no improvement. It may be a gfx driver issue but I am not sure how to fix it. My hardware is HP NX 8220 with ATI X600 gfx
