Key Repeat not working

Key repeat is not working (most problematic: backspace).

Setup:
Distro: Fedora Core 3
Desktop: Gnome
Kernel: 2.6.9-1.667
XWin: XOrg 6.8.1
Driver: nVidia
Gfx Card: nVidia 5200FX (128megs vram)
Cpu: AMD Athlon 2700+ Thoroughbred (2171.731Mhz, 256KB Cache)
Mem: 756MB physical, 1.5GB swap

Suse 10, KDE. The rest of my HW details etc are in the Sticky thread.

I also have one key (German Keyboard) that does not work in SL, but in KDE whatever fine: the key with # and ' (shifted) on it. I hardly use the #, but I have to use ยด instead of '.

Was there ever a fix for this? or a decent workaround?

I like scripting in the linux client too, but with the keyrepeat and the cut and paste not working, it's becomes bothersome

This is a known bug in the Alpha Client and has been reported to LL.
