Hello guys,

I had not tested the new version that releaed yesterday.
But with the older version I have a few problems.

The first point: My hardware and my system
I use at home linux-gentoo-2.6.19 [stable] and kde-3.5.6
My hardware are GeForce 7950GX2, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, 200 GB HDD, AsRock Mainboard, 10 and 100 LAN, onboard 7.1 soundcard...
then my internet connection: dsl ligh (768), also 50kb download and 10 to 20 kb upload... not very much.

Now my problems:
When I want to add a new contact in my friendlist the client crashed (with linux >.>;)
When I use the "toggle fullscreen" the client crashed (with linux)
When more than 20 people are on a sim, the client make a few problems and a few minutes later, it crashed, often the complete system
When we have ehm... 08:00 PM in Germany (20:00) and here in the USA all guys come online, the client will be really instable.

I have tested the windows client on linux with wine, but I need the QuickTime and DirectX SDKs... I don't get them.
I haven't cedega :/

So... can somebody ask me, what I can do for getting a "stable" client or reduce that often crashes?

Thank you :)

Best wishes, Tyranastrasz

Edit: I had forgotten my processor o.o It's an Intel Dual Core E6400 (2x2.13 GHz)

Network speed

Hi Tyra,

Try to lower the maximum network speed in Preferences to a value WELL below the nominal speed of your internet access speed. Like 256 max, for your 768 nominal.

It helped me a lot: I lowered it from 1000 to 770 for a nominal speed of 4096.
