Running the Linux client just fine here on an E1510 running Ubuntu! I had it going on an Inspiron 1100, but it was terribly slow. So I upgraded. :)

I'm running the Latitude 110L and Ubuntu 6.06(2.6.15) with no major issues.

Dell Latitude D8xx series seems to work fine. That's the laptops we use at work, and most certainly I tried both linux AND SL on them. (Not at the same time, tho.. but both run ^.^).

The important question here isn't "What Dell works" is "What graphics card is in these laptops?"

There's an ATI x1600 in my E1505. The 1100 had an i810 on-board. It met the minimum requirements, I think, but it was like living life in slow motion. I'm *so* glad I spent the extra money and get the better video card in my new laptop.

Works fine on Latitude d800

SL linux works fine on Ubuntu Dapper, running on my Latitude d800 (only 128mb of ram even)

Gfx is a gforce go 4200 (32mb)

Make sure whatever laptop you buy if you are wanting to do gl stuff in Nix then use Nvidia. While not perfect the nvidia drivers are miles ahead of ati's

Avoid any which may contain the Radeon Mobility R200M etc. It's like wading through treacle.

Also avoid Dell models which include free conference explosions.

I guess I messed up...it's an x1400, not an x1600. Still, the performance is really good, and I haven't really had any problems with the ATI driver so far.
