Hi, after some months of pause, I've tested again SecondLife in my Feisty box, but now it doesn't work at all...

I mean, last time I ran SL (about 2/3 months ago) all worked well, but now both using the stable 1.18.2.1 version and the 1.18.3.x release candidate my client freezes durning log-in, and exactly when the "Decoding UI Images" message is shown...

This is the log I get, but reading that it seems that the decoding part isn't the real issue, since it's said to be finished...

I'm using an r3xx ATi card with free Mesa3D drivers (updated to git version), and I've also cleaned my ~/.secondlife folder...

ok quick update. this seems to be sound related. I did some tests on everything that could happen at that part of startup (see ocram's output above). that happens to be the point sound starts playing and disabling all sound in sl fixed the problem for me. i did it from the secondlife startup script. I'll look into it some more and see what i can do.

This sound like a bug I issued on the public JIRA issue tracker.
see http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2490 and please comment about your findings there.
