It looks like the flavor of OpenAL used changed again (to OpenAL Soft 1.2), and while some things are nice... ...my voice is dead for one reason that I can pinpoint. Here's the text: From: someone AL lib: alsa.c:562: set rate failed: Invalid argument Even if I remove the reference .alsoftrc, I still get that error. I'd love to see what it's trying to set the sampling rate at, both input and output. This is to a Logitech headset.

I presume this is related to slvoice? But i though that also had its own openal libraries included in the package? or have these gone to openal-soft now too?

Client 1.20.15 with voice is working on Fedora 8 for me. If I remember correctly from my epic fight with SLvox and Pulse Audio, that error is actually an ALSA bug that Pulse trips over when OpenAL initializes it.

Yeah, this is SLVoice. They've gone ALSoft too (the reference implimentation is too old and needed maintance). So my old tricks aren't working. I may have to tweak an .asound to do translation.

I've found out that OpenALSoft does not work well with USB sound cards. I got the Plantronics in and got the same errors with the USB plugged in. I plugged in directly and got working voice. *grumble*
