I downloaded the "latest" viewer (Version Number: 1.20.16.97603) from the download page and now I can't log on because it's "out of date"?
It's telling me I have to download something else.

Did you start SL with an old shortcut or did you let the installation program program start it for you?
You might try uninstalling SL and reinstalling it.

It's telling me I have to download something else. I gave up on latest beta viewers a long time ago. Several times I renewed the viewer only to find this within a day or two. Having only a 256k connection makes it an hours wait while d/l 'ing. So I just stick with the stable and add the nicolas patches (Hooray he has new ones) From: someone Did you start SL with an old shortcut or did you let the installation program program start it for you?
You might try uninstalling SL and reinstalling it. We don't "Install" SL in Linux. Just unzip and run. Unless it's the Slviewer (which I don't use) which CAN be installed from a program database called a repository. So your question is relevant but I don't think so.

There's a file called gridsarg.dat in your Second Life installation directory. Replace --channel "Second Life Release Candidate" by --channel "skipRC1". Did manually update myself tho. |
