I just downloaded both new release's 11 & 12 but i an haveing the same problem on both.
After entering my name and password a window opens telling me there is an update when I click to update the program closes.
How can I get round this problem

You need to add the grid name to the command line.
./secondlife --siva
or
./secondlife --aditi

(i am using ubuntu dapper) If you're just trying to join in then you probably don't want the previews anyway. Just download the software, untar it, cd into the directory and run ./secondlife |

i am doing just what you said and says new version is available you must download it...
press download and then it quits!
using ubuntu dapper

using ubuntu dapper It looks like the preview has been updated and there is no current Linux client  so you're out of luck for rpeview access unless you use wine for the moment. |
