Snaphots saved to ".j2c" files, not BMP?

Upgraded to the 1.18.1 client, and now the snapshots I take are saved into some unknown binary format with a .j2c extension, i.e, Snapshot_001.j2c.

GIMP and other image manipulation programs do not understand this format. How can I get Snapshots saved to BMP format again?

My guess is that the J2C is JPEG-2000 format which is how SL stores all images. The alternative explanation is that they are J2EE WDSL files which makes no sense at all.

Are you sure they aren't JP2 or JPC files? Those are the conventional extension for JPEG-2000. The ImageMagick suite will help you convert any image format to any other.

i figured it out -- the "Client>>Compress Snapshots To Disk" option was somehow enabled in my viewer. i unchecked this and Snapshots are saved to BMP format again.

Are you able to run them through OpenJPEG?
