Hi Tofu and other developers of the SL-client for Linux,

In other forums and in the blog I hear nothing but negative sounds regarding SL.

Well, I share a totally different opinion! I think you all deserve a great round of applause for keeping up the good (no really, no sarcasm here) work you guys are all doing.

I personally managed couple of hundreds of HP-UX-servers and believe me, it is not so easy as it seams! And above all of that managing them in different data centers which are transparently coupled via the nasty internet, you've got my credits!

Besides the server platform there is of course the client, as is proven by now ... You make a fairly good client. When you compile it yourself it is not so stable as the out-of-the-box version, which can run on almost every Linux-distro available!

SO: A GREAT ROUND OF APPLAUSE FROM ME!

P.S. I know this is totally out of the scope of the forum, but it's the only way to make my opinion heared by the developers.

I will second this. Great job on the Linux client! I have both a ArchLinux and a Windows XP box running the game here side by side and the linux alpha outperforms the windows version easily... but then again my Linux box has slightly better hardware. Both versions crash occasionally and do wacky things... but nothing I can't live with. Keep making it better and thanks!
