Hi, it's in the title, I'm don't understand why.
After a few minutes, SL is frozen and my CPU is idle but there's still network activity (no activity when SL is closed).
I'm running 2007.1 with FX5200 geforce, 1G of RAM.

my SL on gentoo is running but i have an ATI card... It's a bit slower graphically than it is on MS Win though but it still goes i spose it'll get better with the newer releases... Is your kernel version: 2.6.20?

I have the same problems. Gentoo amd64 in Linux 2.6.21.1, but it usually ether segfaults (SIG11)'s or crashes with a double-freeze. Check my thread -- Tofu said that there's some memory handling problems that the latest glibc tends to detect. You should be able to find out in the logs itself.

Manda, are you using the client from the SL download page or the one from the gentoo's secondlife overlay?

I used a 2.6.19 at the beginning, but updated to 2.6.20 to see if it improves... It didn't. :(

I uncommented the troubleshooting exports from ~/2ndLife/secondlife and it seems to stabilize it, but I still have some random lockups. Right now, it froze after 5min twice.
I'm using the official port I downloaded from SL.com.

If someone can explain me how to build it gentoo-style from scratch, I can try, It may improve perfs and link to my specific libraries, but I don't know the minimal libs requirements.

I don't have ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" so I have a fairly stable system.
Unfortunately, I can't post my logs (# The text that you have entered is too long (56005 characters). Please shorten it to 30000 characters long.)

If there are any relevant information, I can browse them.

Here's a trace of a crash but sometimes it just stays frozen:

The double-free is the same problem I have. As I said, I raised this in a thread earlier. They know.
