"[root@localhost SecondLife_i686_1_12_3_6]# ./secondlife bin/do-not-directly-run-secondlife-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
********************************************************* This is an ALPHA release of the Second Life linux client. Thank you for testing! You can visit the Linux Client Alpha Testers forum at: http://forums.secondlife.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=263"

Hope this helps Just find the proper RPM for your distribution, install it, and you should (hopefully maybe) be good to go.

I have this too. Every update. Fortunately, I have a copy lying around somewhere that came with an older Second Life client. I just use that one. I forget just when it stopped being included, however.

libSDL-1.2.so.0 It is required to run SecondLife through Linux, I think there is a post here about running newer libSDL in here somewhere but I dun think it is an issue anymore

I dun think it is an issue anymoreWhy? I still have to "manualy" make it available to every new install. It is not used by anything else in my system, and the only reason I have it at all is that an earlier release of Second Life installed in in the application`s own libs directory, and I copied it from there. As far as I am concerned, it is still an issue, albeit a minor one.
