It seems anything with floating text has the floating text repeated, see screenshot.

Hmm this is probably related to group-titles being duplicated as well.
I'll add it to the known issues list.

Yea I am seeing simular on a vendor that a friend of mine. and my vendors text is slightly messed up but is nothing like the 7 lines that my firends vendors is .. Might have something, to do with the newline character in the settext. I know mine is two line display, and my friends might have a white space addred. I also am useing Slam 64 (Slackware baesed 64bit distro)

I've noticed this as well. Specifically, in any floating text (llSetText() and group/user names), a newline ("\n" will repeat all text prior to it (excluding newlines) after inserting an actual line break. This has been the case in the Linux client from before 1.11.0.9 through 1.11.0.11. I am running Gentoo 2006.0, Linux (kernel) 2.6.16 on a Sun Ultra 20 x86_64 AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 152.

This is a known bug since the first Linux Alpha release.

The question is, does it really take 5+ months to fix?

This should be a 2min, not a 5 month, fix. *sigh* give us less bugs before more features...

While this bug really is annoying and known to be a trivial fix, I guess that Lindens don't bother too much with the internals onf the Linux client other than getting it to compile and run. All we can hope for is that Icculus will deliver an updated client soon.
