Disconnect? Close? Quit? Intermittent?

I use Michell2's repository lines (updates via Synaptic Pkg. Manager) to keep my SL "up to date". Yet, after updating to 1.20.7 (0), I get the use of the "viewer" for anywhere from 2 mintues to 5 minutes. Then SL closes, or disconnects or quits.

I have adjusted the Edit/Preferences/Network/Maximum Bandwidth to about 200K.

Anybody know what is causing this AND how to fix it?

Hey, have you tried looking at the ~/.secondlife/logs/Secondlife.log and ~/.secondlife/logs/error_log. Sounds like a good old fashioned crash to me something is crashing.

BTW 1.20.7 is old now and i have done 2 updates since then (to 1.20.14 today).

First, I cannot find ~/.secondlife/logs/error_log. I did find ~/.secondlife/logs/SecondLife.log and a SecondLife.old.

OK, seems the logs show some Warnings.

Has this been caused by adding lines to the repos and using Synaptic to update SL? Or is it that the "old" SL viewer I had should have been manually deleted before using the repos for installing/updating?

Give me a CLUE, please!
